I was thinking about offering my visitors free web templates that they can download from my site. So they could use the template free of charge under the provision that they keep the link to my site in the footer of the template.

Would Google be against this?

How much would it cost to hire designers to build, say 50 templates.

What % of people do you think will actually keep the link back to my site in the footer?

Thanks

Footer links dont count for much, SEOMoz did a big research project and showed that links in the footer count for less, you'd be better haveing a horizontal menu ba at the top and sticking them at the side of that.

That been said, it IS a good idea, and can produce good results. If you're going to do it, have wordpress templates / other PHP templates built. You can them encrpyt the link so the standard n00b can't get rid. With HTMl templates all you have to do it delete a line.

PS: Wrong section
