OK, I've been reading a lot in here and it's hurting my head to try to learn a lot too fast. I've noticed most talk about directing traffic to a landing affiliate page, but can you still link directly with just your affililate code or does google not allow and/or bump up the CPC's??

Thanks

thanks for nothing crazyfish. well at least you got your extra post count for the day.

why hang out in the noob section if you don't want to hear noob questions?

No one here is going to spoon feed you whether or not this is the noob section. This question has been answered many times. So use the search function and keep read.

Dark Ninja,

I'm not trying to be a smartass, seriously...but type direct-linking into the search box and read the most up to date info on the direct linking method. That should answer your question

You don't think I did that?
Do a search yourself and see what results you get...

direct linking can refer to a lot of different situations.

Hey Zany,

Thanks for the links. that information was helpful

So if I'm reading correctly with adwords TOS, I can use an affiliate link directly, but only if I'm the only one using that URL?

Bridge Pages: Ads for web pages that act as an intermediary, whose sole purpose is to link or redirect traffic to the parent company.
Framing: Ads for web pages that replicate the look and feel of a parent site. Your site should not mirror (be similar or nearly identical in appearance to) your parent company's or any other advertiser's site.

Isn't that exactly what affiliates do?

No, You can direct link, but your display URL has to match the final page the user lands on. In your case that's the advertiser page.

Keep in mind that if the advertiser, or any other affiliates are bidding on the same keyword and have the same display url, only the highest bidder will show...
