Because sometimes I actually need ACID compliance? ;-)

but not all of the time If you just need a simple queue accessible by several processes, something like redis is really useful.

What's irritating is that in the past I've had plenty of projects where data integrity wasn't that important, whereas now I don't have room for 1-in-a-million mistakes :-/

Shame, as I NEED to move on to something less fundamentally fucked than PHP which I can play with on Linux - and Mono can fuck itself in the eye. Python and Redis, think I might have to find some time to play with them

Yes, I recommend it for certain situations. Now get coding
