Looks like someone invented arbi 3.0 already

update: I just took a look at Related Info for: thefreedictionary.com/ . It looks like a major info site full of legally scraped content, it's got a PR of 7 and and an alexa ranking in the top 1000. They must be buying some of the traffic just to top things up.

I noticed some of the ads are for other arbi sites too :)

The Free Dictionary site used to have a more extentive Adsense integration a while back. I remember taking note of it at the time. It used to have Google Ads on the front page, nice link units etc. Now, it seems they have eased off a bit, but the ads are still there, it's just they are buried a bit deeper in the site.

I'm saying arb b/c they are bidding on numerous kw's in 7search... I've been outbid by them for quite a few. Might not be a 'pure' arb play, but fuck it - same concept right? The words they were bidding on were in some of my higher paying niches - isn't paying low cheap prices in 7search etc and having people go to your site - which is pretty much just a word definition and scraped wiki w/ adsense- arb?? Enlighten me if that isn't true... it's not like they are selling services or products and bidding for those kw's

btw- can someone explain what kinds of ads this site runs?

Nope, it isn't, it's just getting visitors for cheap.

It would be arbitrage if their main goal was sending those same people to other ads like Google Adsense.
 
but why else build a site like that, except to send them to the ads to make money? It's not like it is something like wikipedia, it just scrapes it...

do you mean the google search toolbars, etc - to make people set it as their homepage and such?

Traffic, lots and lots of traffic.

It's not arbitrage because arbitrage = "the purchase of securities (or visitors or whatever) on one market for immediate resale on another market in order to profit from a price discrepancy".

It's simply a huge, good quality site, which can be monetized in a number of ways apart from Adsense.
