One Site. Multiple Demos. Serving Relevant Ads. How?

I have a wiki-like site. I reckon I have hundreds of different demographics visiting the site.

  1. How do I work out the demos for the visitors of each page?
  2. And then using a script (OpenX? Or what?) how do I then only show specific adds to the relevant demo?
  3. And can I then have those demo ads follow them around the website as they browse?
  4. Would using Facebooks Open Graph/Connect/??? API help me in serving ads to my visitor?
  5. Which script could I then use to sell this ad-space to marketers (like Facebook Ads)?

Confused :ugone2far:

No, I don't run Adsense on it. Certainly a viable option. I was looking to run CPA/affiliate offers to each demo. Either CPM or through my own affiliate links. Ultimately, optimizing so much that'd I'd be running my own offers and milikng the traffic on the backend.

Step 1 - Run Adsense for a couple of months and see what offers keep showing up on your page. Those are the ones converting.
Step 2 - Now go find those offers and run them yourself.
Step 3 - ???
Step 4 - Profit

That's seems sensible to me! Thanks.

It would be smart for you to use doubleclick to setup zones on your site.

Learn to do it now so that you can pull the most money per visitor.

In a lot of cases you will have pages where no offer brings in more of a CPM than adsense or someone else buying the traffic would. You can use Doubleclick to make sure that the highest paying ad option is always the one being shown on your page. Openx can also do the same thing as well. Pick one and really learn it.

Remember, as a site owner, the CPM is what matters to you the most. Don't get caught up in the cpc of things.

Will definitley be checking out DoubleClick and OpenX. Thanks.
