Just starting out on the whole IM thing. Hopefully I too will be able to master it. Until that day, I've started a free blog hosting site: Free Blog Hosting

I'm looking for some input on what you guys think of the site. Di you think it's marketable? Do you think there is a future in affiliate marketing on the site?
Just feel like flaming me for asking?

Please let me know what comes to mind when you see the site. I really am very interested in getting any and all feedback -- no matter how callous.
 


Go nichy. Why would someone use yours over wordpress.com? Go for niche "sports fans blogs" for example, and choke the site on relevant themes. Think "gangs" not "species"...
Change the theme. It sucks. Go for modern.
Remove the adsense, find other ways to monetize. Do you really want to lose a pr6 3 year long blogger to get a 50 cent click?
Monetize the blogs with paid links, I suggest TNX.
Make the "Dive straight in" MUCH LARGER. And change it to "I want my free blog now" on a big button.
 
Thanks for your suggestions.

1. I have changed the theme on the main blog. Any more recommendations there?
2. I have spaces for ad placement - not adsense.
3. I will be choosing a nice and creating a logo to go with it once I have the right template for the main site that will be effective for me.
 
Yup, this theme looks a lot more trendy. Basically, you need to optimize the homepage as a converting landing page, trying out buttons and text messages.

But I really believe that you need to go niche. General does not work anymore on the net.
