No matter what skills we developed, the amount of money we have, or time available for our internet pursuits, none of it will ever be enough if you we don't optimize our time. What do you do to optimize time?

One thing I found out is that when I'm learning something new I have to limit the time I will devote to it because I loose track of time and suddenly the day is gone! In the same amount of time I could've researched and written several pages for a website!

I am working on learning to optimize my time. When I can, I am taking blocks of time and challenge myself to see how much I can accomplish.

For my adult stuff , i start building before i go online, so there's less temptation to piss around with mindless things...

I use gallery submitter - fill it up with templates and leave it submitting each day. Then follow that by at least one daily submission using chameleon and or dreamsubmitter, both of those programs save time.

im getting into the freesite game now, so saving the templates i'm making will help a lot a few months down the line.

For blogging, i stock up posts and either set them to post at specific times or leave them as drafts to i can add to them and just hit submit.

the big tasks i once had are now small and mainly automated, meaning i only have work to do in the morning, then i can either relax, learn more or try out new ideas :)

templates are probably my biggest time saver - if youre into submitting freesites and galleries, you should knock up a few templates whenever you get spare moments.

The night before, I make up my list for the next day. Then, I label each item A, B or C (Have to do, Should do, Could do).

In the morning, I quickly check e-mails and add to that list; then, I prioritize each A, B, and C with numbers (A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, C1, etc).

Next, close down e-mail & IM, then go to A1 and start working. Before you know it, you're making progress. This is the Franklin Covey way of getting things done... makes a big list possible to tackle.

Is that the 7 habits of highly effective people? Sounds like it. If so that is stephen covey, a good read.

Yep, that's it. I took the 2-day course... I enjoy actually checking things off my list, rather than clicking another button on the computer when something's done.

I took a 1 day course and skimmed the book. big yellow legal pads rock.

As I mentioned earlier, I use a TO DO list to organize my time. To optimize my time, I prioritize the items in terms of importance and amount of "follow up" needed for each item. It's been working out so far but be prepared to make some small adjustments as you implement in from day to tday. Also, include some "contingency" time to allow you to do your other tasks just in case "something comes up" unexepectedly.

I've implemented the A-B-C list. I like it and it has made a difference.
When I have challenged myself, I got a more accurate idea of how my time is spent. I changed to writing more and teaching myself less when I'm working (wage earning) lots of hours. I'm waiting for help and saving self education to when I have more time. I feel like I'm accomplishing more.
