Can anybody recommend a place to go to get work done cheap? If it makes any difference I'm looking to get some websites built cheap. Should I just post on forums looking for work, or look for outsourcing agencies? This is just a one time deal for now, not looking for anybody to do any work regularly.

Should I be worried about getting ripped off (stealing an idea), when I get somebody else to do my work? Should I pay extra from somebody reputable? Minimize the chances?

If all that you are looking for is rock bottom prices then forums are one and sites like RentACoder and ODesk are another option.

However, before you outsource, be very sure to read the article in my signature. That should help you avoid getting ripped.

Had a few poor experiences with ScriptLance & elance. But just trying Guru.com for the first time this month, and the whole experience has been far, far more positive so far.

i fucking hate outsourcing. It's cheap but the results are really minimal.

If it's just basic HTML/CSS (and maybe even some basic PHP), get off your fat ass and learn it yourself.

Otherwise, I prefer forums over freelance sites. At forums, their reputation is at stake, and you can find people with shiny reps to do the work for you. They won't rip you off, unless their name is chrislingle.
