I been with NPP for a bit now and not trying to be a jerk but I believe in proiding an honest review for other forum members.
In all honesty it has lost a bit of it's luster. I really liked the network at first but lately you can't use it. First of all there is a server update going on for over 12 days now and the system is incredibly slow and unusable during this time. I also agree with OnlineButik the actual indexing rate is not good at all. The network is too saturated right now.
I been thru the growing pains of the network and have noticed that many other customers are complaining. Russ is a good guy and has a great idea behind this network but it really has been messy of late. I know they have been working on getting different ip's, servers more quality domains instead of all those .info's but maybe it's time to close of memberships, fix the issues and come back stronger. Take care of the customers you currently have who have paid the way and are still hanging in there waiting for this system to get back on track.
Hi,
It's funny that you bring this stuff up as Russ and I had a very long discussion today about the future of the network. The server update has been finished for awhile now, it just took sometime to take down the server messages for some reason. For some reason the server is running at an 8 while it should be a 1 - 3 so we're trying to figure out what could possible be straining the network.
We are implementing some changes that we are planning on sending out user messages to regarding the domains. By Google standards, a subdomain is supposed to act as it's own site as long as it doesn't link back to the main TLD. So by Google standards, the indexing for a subdomain should not be any different than the indexing of a main TLD. Our experience would suggest different... Not sure why, but it hasn't performed as what Google would have stated. Some subdomains are better than others. Maybe it's the quality of the content. It's anybody's guess with Google these days.
So we are going to start moving all of the posting back to the main TLDs in the very near future. Our users will indeed receive a message about this.
Also, I'm not naming you or anybody else, but a lot of users just don't publish QUALITY articles to the network which of course effects their own indexing rates and the actual sites of the network. We figure that if we lift some of the spinning limits, that people will be able to publish their articles to more domains without "over spinning" the article. I believe we are in the works to allow a "little more" duplicate content on the network than before, maybe just by 2 to 3 times. Might have some duplicate titles and articles there, but never the same title and article matched up. We will be emailing our members about this as well. Means easier spinning for you guys.
Last, we are going to finish some things. Even with trying to fix the quality of content, there are still some people that write crappy content because well, there are a lot of people that just don't know correct grammar. A lot of people join NPP to write and spin articles, but in the end it just isn't for them because they honestly don't put in the effort needed to write quality articles that will help their campaigns. And of course these non quality articles don't help the network either. So what do we do? We have to weed out some members.
We are going to start working to make this an all exclusive network. Meaning, we get rid of members that don't publish quality articles and the noobs that just don't know how to use the system the right away as well as the people who try to abuse the system (which we do anyway, but it appears that we must be more strict).
We will limit membership, probably to 150 people. Yes, we have that many right now, actually probably around 250 or so (don't quote me on that). So we have some work to do.
So what's else do we need to do?
We are in the process of getting the social bookmarking application finished for our members for automated social bookmarking. Along with increasing percentages of the automatic backlinking of the articles and what not. We will most likely make one membership level and are in the talks with "possibly" giving Backlink Energizer for free with that membership level. We'll need to work out a deal with Steve Aylor for that. That way people will get all the automated backlinking, the automated social bookmarking along with the URLs reports and RSS mash feeds WITH Backlick Energizer. We're basically trying to offer more than any other network comes close to. With also getting to 1000 domains.
Not to mention when the posting goes back to the TLDs that many of those TLDs have incurred a PageRank of 1 - 3, so for a blog network to achieve that is not common from what I understand. Our users with most definitely benefit from this.
Well, I think I've covered everything thus far and I'm sure our members will start to receive emails when everything starts to get implemented. I'm planning on these big changes in happening through the months of March and April.
If you have any questions feel free to ask.
Thanks
Donny
