Some nice country
Hey,

back in the days, many software developers combined their free software with adware to make bank. Are there any good programs left? I'm looking for something that allows me to bundle freeware with this stuff and get a commission every time visitors download VLC, Firefox... you get the idea... from my site and install some toolbar on top or whatever is paying the most, as long as it's not harmful or "evil".

There was a guy doing this on sitescout banking fucking hard $1,000+ days!... But he was privately working with some big brand at 1 point. He had the box unchecked (to add software), and in order to get a commission the user had to tick it off. So yeah people definitely making bank doing this.

It's all relative, I mean to me, when I go from making what I made at my day job to what I make online now. It's a big difference. To you, maybe not so much. Enjoy your monies!

*push*
I've seen a competitor in my niche doing exactly what I was planning: Offering a freeware program and bundling it with adware or trial versions of other programs, such as antivirus software or adware removal tools... You get the drill. I'm gonna be able to pull off the software combining stuff myself, but I'm still looking for a list of affiliate programs offering this.

Really nobody has seen this before?

Is this for real? I mean you are using something under GPL/GNU/MIT/etc which isn't yours for profit. Are you sure you are allowed to bundle 3rd party software with the advertiser's product?

Get in touch with W3i they do this. They also allow you to become a 'publisher' meaning you create your 'own' bundled software. They do what you're asking anyway. Do some digging, they're offering vlc, 7-zip etc etc bundled.

W3i already has a bunch bundled for you. They may not let you bundle anything that you don't own though. If you wanna make some of your own software and bundle it you can also check out opencandy.

It all depends on what your over head is. If you're a PPC guy spending $900 to make the $1000 then no its not. If you're a mailer spending $2k a month to make $31,000 then I'd say yeah that's banking pretty damn hard. $29,000 a month in profit is pretty damn good.

He's only talking about net. Nobody cares about revenue, except maybe the network. $1000 a day from ppc (net) is the same as $1000 a day from mailing (net).

Ah, didn't realize he was talking about net, but still $31,000 net isn't something to laugh at. Most people would literally kill someone to make that.

you may want to take a look at amonetize affiliate network, the payout really depends on the geo target of the installation
