How do you guys discipline yourself to get the routine work done?

I mean are there any techniques that you use or some sort of process that basically lets you stay organized and on track?

What times do you work and how many hours per day do you work?

Like do you guys have set number of hours that you work per day or do you just work-to-get-it-done as much as you possibly can on project-per-project basis?

How do you balance your personal time and your time where you dedicate yourself 100% to a task that needs to be done, no matter how boring or exhausting it is?

I heard somewhere that writing down goals you need to do each day helps a lot, however with affiliate marketing one goal/project can take days or weeks to fully implement.

So, essentially what do you guys to to get the things done?

You may try reading Getting Things Done by David Allen. I picked it up after emp (I think) recommended it in another thread.

I'm finding its a great way to "get things done" as the title implies.
It also gives you methods to focus on the task at hand and get the shit done that needs to get done and not worry about all the other stuff you got going on.

Other than that I'd just say try to set up your own routine, figure out what works for you.

I've been really lazy lately. With this job it's easy to get lazy in because the web site does all the work.

The Internet is the ultimate bed of distractions, I've actually gone into my hosts file and have blocked political and economic-blogs. :)

but not wickedfire? ;) i've thought of doing the same thing but figure i'd just end up editing the hosts file again back to how it was in about 15 minutes or so.

ugh i pity that guy (steve pavlina). what a drone... productivity and discipline are great but his is just fucking nuts

Ive never really thought about it, never really had to, I just get things done and always have. I spent most of my working life working for someone else and even then I worked my ass off and got things done. now that I work for myself, Im working twice as hard and twice as long now dont think twice about it, I just do it. Why because I love what Im doing, youve heard that old saying before, "If you love what your doing, youll never work a day in your life," thats about where I am at this point in my life, I dont pay to much attention to how many hours I work, or on how to discipline myself, I just do it...... 15 to 20 hours in a work day are pretty normal for me and I would work longer If I could......

My point if you really like what your doing you shouldnt have to think about shit like this. You talked about losing money and focus in another thread, get use to it. I worked for pennies a day for a long time before i saw any return on time or money, granted ppc marketing can offer accelerated returns if your new to the game, expect to lose money, expect to work for next to nothing for a long time. If you like what you are doing and are determined it really shouldnt matter, you shouldnt even be wasting your time thinking about shit like this.

You got a response in your last thread, "If you dont have the stomach for this biz, get out now!" think about it, really think about it. If you have to force yourself on a daily basis to get things done, maybe you are in the wrong biz, go back to flipping burgers or find something that you have a true passion for.

Yep, I recommended "getting things done"

Great way to track projects and tasks, and has helped my poor chaotic self lots. My wife was so amazed she says I am a new person now.. I know it sounds cheesy, but I was really bad, always forgetting things, misplacing things, not following up on issues, etc..

Anyhow, it won't do the work for you. Routine and drudgery will remain routine and drudgery. Automate as much as you can. Every time you'll learn something new (programming, Excel, whatever) and it is more fun than manually entering data, sorting pictures, whatever.

Automation FTW!!

Definately agree with this, if you don't love what you do to begin with you won't make much money here. Find a job you love and work hard at it and you can make as much money online if you like your job.
