I hired a programmer to make a site using php version 4. My host won't be supporting php4 for much longer.

Anyways, I've tested how the site would be on php 5 and it doesn't work. An error message is seen.

My question is ... how difficult/time consuming is it to upgrade a site to make it work on php 5 from php 4? I know I will get lots of "it depends" answers but generally speaking.
