I've never been really impressed with Facebook for promotional purposes, but some people may prove me wrong there. Pinterest, however, has caught my interest. Is anyone using this for promotional purposes?

Pinterest is a fresh social media site that is geared only to images. You begin with a “board” and as you act around the network you can “pin” interesting images to it. Your posts will appear up on your buddies feeds and they will be efficient to see what you pin, also they themselves can re-pin and like your images. Think of the viral effect this will.

If you own a website then you can pin images of the products you promote. Be sure to compliance with the Terms and Services of the Affiliate program.
When you create an account to Pinterest you connect your Facebook, Twitter and website so people can find you and your services. Also you can leave a short biography.
Repinning, liking and commenting on other peoples boards and collections will help you make contacts in long term.
You can also pin anything from the web, just be careful to leave the source link of the picture you want to pin.
