Are you joking or are you retarded?
I'm not joking, if you had half a marketing brain cell you'd realize the butch lesbian prison warden isn't the most flattering representation of POF users, so there is no guarantee that Marcus paid for the spot.

I'd like to know, just out of curiosity, whether or not he did pay.

Common sense says he just got lucky.

The MV producer wanted a screenshot of a website that showed how lame she was by online dating.

Okcupid is to pink.

Match, eharmony, chemestry are to well known, and possibly would be a legal issue.

POF fit the bill... =)

My numbers for February:
388074 impressions
198 clicks
CTR of 0.051% (corrected by Cataclysmic)
Bid: $0.15 (yes, I'm cheap :))
Spent: $58.21
Income: $265.02

The traffic is converting pretty good. Now it's just a matter of scaling, although I'm afraid it will hurt my conversion rate and ROI.

I intend this in a helpful way...

You've been on this forum since 2007, have 440 posts, and although you made a small profit with that campaign, you only managed to spend $58 on POF over three weeks? And you're bidding the minimum bid? Here are some things that I think you have been doing wrong since 2007:

- Been waaaaay too conservative
- Spent waaaaay too much time on this forum
- Spent waaaaay too little time actually doing affiliate marketing

Congratulations on the small profit, but perhaps it's time for more grunt work, more risk-taking, and less bumming around on forums? It's great that you made a profit, but you can/should be doing far far better than that.

I've been working on that gaga deal for since last summer... We started the whole advertising in music video trend, watch some other dating sites start coming out with music video sponserships in the next 2 months.

Sometime this week or next week we will move the profile pages and others to the new ad system and anyone who spent $1000 or more in the new system will be able to bid on that traffic. We will sell it as standard IAB units, ie 300's and 160's and 120's. It will double the traffic in the system. We are not going to run them in the small sizes because it dramatically reduces the ROI for all campaigns, i think its because the frequency is to high.

That's good news.

Are you referring to the roi being reduced because of the small sizes in your campaigns, or the self serve advertiser's campaigns?

Did you mean "anyone who spent $1000 or more in the old system"?

Just wanted to make sure I qualify :)

Awesome news. I'm guessing the same targeting system will be used for the IAB units? And what kind of ctrs do you see for the larger ads

Marcus, can you elaborate a little more on the new ad system coming in? Will small ads still be displayed in the inbox and other areas? Or will all areas be converted to the new system?

Every page that is displayed the facebook like ads will continue to display them. Everyone that is now displaying IAB sized ads will be sold through our system as well. When you create a campaign you will be asked what sizes you want to create the campaign for. We can't display the small ads on every single page cuz for some reason the ROI tanks.. So i decided to sell a mixture of large and small ads.

You know what, you're actually right. Although I make a lot more with other traffic sources, I do spend too much time on this forum and other things and too little time on affiliate marketing. Time to reprioritize :)

Man i can't spell in the above post.

Should be launching tomorrow, everything is going to be pretty much the same except when you create a new campaign it will ask what type of campaign you want, assuming you deposited over 1k in your account.

There are 120 Million impressions for the small sized ads per day, and 30 some million for the standard IAB ads.
