I'm a ppc newbie ... I tried three things so far on PoF, I got clicks, decent CTR but 0 conversions.

I made a simple landing page that shows girls ... some have "online now" under, some "offline now" under to make it seem real and give the reader more incentive to press the "SIGN UP" button

I'm targeting many groups ... 40-50 ; 50-60 ages; different countries, and other things split-tested ... I tried to do a "younger women that like older men" angle ... and I tried to make the ad stress that

am I going in the right direction here at all?

any suggestion / advice greatly appreciated

I was trying these two: Sweet Discreet, Encounters, Affairs | Married Women, Cheating Wives and Saucy or Sweet - the first has conversion $49 the second $5 - both are from the same company --- my CTR was 0.05% I realize this is bad ... was trying small pic + text (not banner)

I'm right now trying Interests by Demographic - which is rather amazing ... for some reason it didn't work for me until now (maybe browser issue?)

Thanks in advance for taking the time to reply. Do you have exp. with PoF? I'm wondering how non-dating ads perform on PoF? for instance targeting smokers with ecigs or religious people with religious products? I have some ideas, I'm a bit afraid to try them though, it seems very experimental, but I guess there's no other way to find out
 
Yes I have experience. Your payout doesn't matter as much as as your EPC (earnings per click).

For POF, aim for a CTR around at least .15%. Split test images until you find winners.

Pick a unique angle (single parents, etc) and break up campaigns by age buckets (21-30, 31-40).

Also try toying with login count (high login count = user has seen alot of ads).

Consider testing/rotating your landing page as well, to help conversion rates.

What about non-dating ads, how well do they work on PoF in your exp.?
 
You also won't see conversions unless your volume is high enough, so try to at least pass the CTR threshold generously when testing your campaign.
