Hi guys,

first of all, a big thanks for all the info here. you guys rock.

My noob question is -- should I run PPC campaigns via adsense, adcenter, etc. to one of my blog entries(pages) that's promoting an aff offer?

Or

should I run PPC campaigns to a regular landing page that leads the actual offer from vendor?

basically shortening my question -- is it ok to do PPC to a blog entry?

Thanks!!

Yes it should be fine depending on how you execute the blog. I'm running PPC to a blog page and its converting very well for me.

It would best if your blog / niche is related to what you are selling. If not, a landing page would be your next option ;)

I have tried unsucessfully to do PPC to a blog entry promoting an affiliate offer. Granted I too am a noob but I have played with it quite a bit without any sales as of yet. I'd be interested to hear your advise on the subject JamesH

I have done all three:
1) ppc -> landing page = worked ok in the past, but now you need a 'landing site'
2) ppc -> blog entry = almost the same as landing page above. QS inproved, but only if other posts were 'on-topic'
3) ppc -> blog category index page = much better QS, and more chances for ad displays (with at least a few blog entries). Display only post titles on the category page, and also display AdSense on the category page, in addition to each entry.

When you say executed well. Can you give a little more detail, please.

Do you only mean, on topic blog entry with a site that has a decent QS.

Or have you refined a way of blogging that is not too obvious of a sales-pitch, yet it still is a good one? Like a Jedi mind-trick :costumed-smiley-013

Maybe we could put this into a point form check-list?

Also, this said blog entry needs the date refreshing, or conversion is not effected by the blog date becoming more and more distant in the past?

Thanks
HH
