hey guys,

I've been in affiliate industry for a while.

There's one thing that is bugging me for a while is that -

Suppose I'm using an affiliate network to drive sales through. My monthly sales are 100 for X product.

Due to some reason, I decide to go direct with the advertiser and it shares with me my GA report link.

I now notice that instead of 100 average sales, my GA shows 200-300 sales with same amount of traffic.

Assuming that the 3rd party pixel is working fine, all conditions are met and that the pixel is fired on UTm_source condition.

The advertiser is sharing the GA report with filtering of utm_source="roady"

How is it possible to see 2-3 times increment in sales? What gives?

Not sure if trolling, but you're saying the advertiser shows 3x the sales as the affiliate network is showing?

If so either:
1) Advertiser is scrubbing aff network
2) Aff Network is scrubbing you
3) Combination of both

Regardless, shouldn't you be happy to be seeing 3x revenue?

It could depend on cookie lifetime
Usually it is set to 30 days in Google Analytics settings and all visitors' transactions that have not been rewritten with another source will be counted into the same source 30 days later even after traffic stop. And since only about 30% of visitors are converting in the same day of first visit this could lead to such a discrepancy
