Question About Dongles

Ok, so I want to get a set of wireless headphones but I need bluetooth on my computer to make it work which I don't have on there. Apparently, I need to get a dongle. What I don't understand is what is the diff between a dongle and the bluetooth thingy my wireless mouse uses?

the dongle is the adaptor, the adaptor is bluetooth, you dont need bluetooth on board

This. Most mouse thingys are actually blue tooth adaptors that are specifically for that device or brand of devices. Example, Logitech mouse receivers.

If you have a mac there's bluetooth built in.

A usb dongle is around $12-$15 on amazon.
