jstme, I think yuo might have the only way, problem is justifying working on my AM stuff while trying to do my normal job lol.


Forget anything that involves breaching IT security / acceptable use policy. In almost all fin services companies, it's instant dismissal these days.

Especially as most of them are slashing headcount right now, don't give them an excuse.

I used to work in Information Security - if an employee started bringing in an unauthorised laptop or trying to tunnel round existing controls, they would be hauled in front of the boss and asked a LOT of questions. The first assumption would be that you were planning to commit fraud / steal data.

This is what I do. With some patience you can teach them to do the job. Some of my grunts are even from China, very cheap and willing to work over 10 hours a day without taking any holiday (not even their own Chinese new year).

Of course training them is a hassle but it's a better option than 'trusting' other internet guy to do the job.
