Question for the Gurus...Where should a newb start?

Hello Everyone. this is my first post here and a reader for about a week. I would like to just get a general idea of where i should start. I've been reading but it seems like information overload. Best bang for the buck type push in the right direction and i'd be most appreciative as well as other newbs i'm sure. Thanks :)
 


find a service we shall you can provide like SEO, writing or CPA promotion. By doing this you can make some quick buck easily
 
1. Register a domain.
2. Find a hosting platform
3. Install Wordpress
4. Write a 100 page article.

You'll be farther ahead than 95% of the noobs who come to this forum. But odds are you're one of the 95% who thinks they can get something for nothing and so end up with nothing.

You are in the right place, 1 week isn't enough time to distinguish between the gold and the garbage. Keep reading and studying, if you want it bad enough you will learn the game. If you don't have the patience for that, this is the wrong business for you anyway.
 
the successful people in this business, or any business in 2011, basically put the same sort of effort that med students put into what they do.

just open up the effort vault and empty yourself of effort. see what comes after two months. address what worked and what didn't. then do it again and again.

if it seems like a shortcut or whatever, it's bullshit. if it seems laborious and a pain to learn/do it's probably valid.

Apply to networks -> set up tracking (IE prosper202) -> pick a vertical -> pick an offer -> pick a traffic source -> grind ads until you find something that works.
 
Whatever you do stay away from the Guru rubbish. If your new to the web/seo and such it maybe worthwhile picking up a decent book to teach you foundation knowledge which is something many newbies do skip.

Once you have your foundation knowledge in place, the best way to learn is just by doing it. Stop reading forums, stop reading new 'methods', stop following the crowd pick a project and focus on it until you see success learning and failing as you go.

don't read about methods

do think of something people need that you could give them
when you find something that people need do it and learn how to

(thats the advice i would like to of been told before wasting time on shite like adsense and methods everyone is trying)

Best advice in the thread... Of course, there are exceptions. That Shoemoney guy with that picture of a fat ass adsense check must know something....Right?

Start by spending some money on Advertising, on a PPC engine. Start by losing your money by paying for EXPERIENCE. Don't read too much. Just Take Action! Make sure you have TRACKING (prosper202) in place though FIRST.
