Hey guys I know this question is going to be pretty sweeping because there are a lot of factors that go into a successful campaign. Such as the product, the target market, etc...

However I was wondering if those who have done really well with PPC (especially on FB) could clue me in a little bit as to how much I should expect to spend and how long I should expect to keep a PPC campaign going until I start getting some sales on my product. I just want to have a ball park estimate so that way I can make sure I am not giving up on a campaign too early or hanging on to it so much that I am throwing away money.

Listen, you spend what you're comfortable with. You could spend $100 or even $1,000. Are you going to fail? Yes, you will (unless you're incredibly smart or just lucky). But understand this is natural. There's really no magic trick to do other than getting different campaigns out there and testing the shit out of them. Make sure your ad copy is good and keep track of what your cost is per click so you know how many clicks you need to get a sale without going into the red.

Nobody is going to be able to tell you when you will get sales in. Just think of the money that you're blowing as your education in affiliate marketing. You may blow a couple grand trying to figure shit out but it will make you learn quickly.

EDIT: Is this your own product or affiliate?

It's an affiliate product. And you're right I guess trial and error really is the only way to find out what works, I just know that I learn a lot from those who share their experiences whether it be in success or failure.

It's all relative, like everything in life.

How much you spend to test a campaign is going to be different from the next guy. Because you're still honing your skills, and haven't built up a bank roll so you can throw a grand out to test, starting smaller is the only way to go. As you gain some successes and bank some money, you may want to spend a little more on the next one so you can test it faster and pair it down to what's working. That's all it comes down to really. If you spend more, you basically speed up the process to seeing what keywords/LPs/ads are profitable and which aren't.

I'd say spend a couple hundred bucks at most to get some data and go from there. Who knows, you might get lucky and come close to breaking even.

I was in your shoes a couple of months ago. I spent 350 roughly till I started having a converting offer. Now it just rolls and is kicking arse. However recetly I have had a lot of campaigns not get approved because the new facebook rules. Good luck and hit me up if you want to chat.

I worked between 18-20 hours a day when I first got started on FB, was profitable within 5 days. Made my first 1000 in profit after 2 weeks (in one day). It all went up from there.

You have to make sure you are testing everything. Like with facebook for example its all about the image. You might get 100 clicks and not 1 conversion, and then change the pic and the next thing you know your at 1:20 you just never know and thats why if you really wanna make bank with ppc you have to be willing to test, track and rotate the shit out of ad text, landing pages, etc. Honestly I have had campaigns that were profiting but not as much as I wanted, and then I changed like some of the somplest and dumbest things you could think of like using a blue colored titled article on my lp instead of a red and boom all of the sudden your conversion rate just went from 8% to 15% . Thats why even if it seems very small or stupid mess with every little thing youd be surprised how the smallest change can make the biggest difference. Good luck

^ ^ How do you spend 18-20 hours a day putting together FB campaigns? I can't really wrap my head around it... Unless you have a huge bankroll and are putting out like 15 campaigns a day.

It's about knowing and having a sense of what type of ads will work and what type of ads won't. Something you get "lucky" and stumble upon something that works, but that only happens when you are willing to test new things.

Once you find something that works - you bank hard off of it, but more importantly you have the confidence in yourself that you can indeed make things work.
