Hi I'm new in the affiliate web marketing concept but I just had a quick question -

How does the prices work?

So let's say a really popular site like FHM.com - if you wanted to put an add on their site, how much do you think they would charge?

Or even another popular one is Fleshbot? How much roughly - is there like ap rice and how does it work - Put your ad on my site for a week? Something like that

Thanks

We're not going to be able to give you a good answer, you'll be much better off speaking with those running the site itself. It's likely, with big sites like that, that you're not going to be able to get a $X/week price - it'll be unique for each campaign.

Guy, you'll have to ask the sites themselves. But yes, like lee said, popular sites will be pricey.

Ok cool - I'll do that and I'm guessing it is usually a fixed price kind of thing for say a week and it is done over Paypal?

What happens if I say - Ok my site receives 500'000 hits a day so this is the price for the ad

The person pays me for 1 week add placement

Then what if in that week it gets like 200'000 hits...That's just his bad luck right

Do you smoke crack? Email them and ask, what is so hard to understand about that?

They also usually have a media kit available to give you a good idea of their rates. Those rates are negotiable if you do it right though.

I think (from the OPs last post) he's actually coming at it from the point of view of the publisher, rather than the advertiser.

Although, really, the intention is unclear.

Care to clarify?

I bet he sold adspace promising traffic according to some stats that he had and then his traffic went down and the adspace buyer wants a partial refund. No?
