I'm a delphi programmer, and am not having too much success with my website. I was thinking of making a program (not a web app, a .exe) to monitor, track, and graph SERPS, backlinks, keyword density, etc.

I was thinking if I follow through with this of charging maybe $20 a month for a license to use the program? What do you guys think?

who knows, there might be a big enough market of newbs who would be interested and actually spend the $. in the end though worrying about every little detail like that is irrelevant and wastes time..i wouldn't pay for it.

hmm interesting, thanks for the reply. Anyone else have a comment/suggestion? I'm looking for more features I could add aswell

There is Parameter (PaRaMeter - free Google PageRank software. Monitors Google page rank.) but it kinda chokes on a 150k-domains list. If you make one that can do 150k domains while Im having lunch, you have a customer ;)

You really need something to check 150,000 domains for pagerank? If you would be willing to work with me I could give it a shot. I'm guessing the list PaRaMeter uses has a limit on data, if that's the case I could probably do it ;)

It's just the way that your packaging the product that counts.Market the product well and you'll succeed. Those ass e-books worth shit but with their sales letters ,the e-book writers, give hope to their customers that they will fulfill their dreams and they buy it.
So if your good at programming and your not good at marketing a product just get someone that does it right and offer him a percent of the sales. This way you'll win much more.
If you can do it yourself that's even better.
Good luck and hope i get a free copy :P

Not need as in oxygen, but would be nice. I tried it after reading Eli's post about getting content from dropped domains. Maybe I should try running Parameter on a real computer instead of running it in Virtual PC.
