Question regarding my site

I've a question regarding my site.
My site is an emd and it got ranked 28 on google when i added 5 unique articles of 1000 words each and did some custom designing of the website.
But after 3 days the site went down to 70+ and today when i checked it is not in the top 100.
I did not do any backlinking at all.
About 2 weeks have passed.
Is this normal?
I just bought a social bookmark package and i am letting it drip for the next 25 days.
What kind of backlinks should i be looking to build for my site?
I've previously created 2 MFA's which got deindexed for some reason.
Can someone tell me what am i doing wrong?
I repeated the above steps for my previous 2 MFAs

There is something called QDF,quality deserves freshness,which makes new website rank for few days
Then it drops off once it gets old.
so it is natural.Generally known as honeymoon period :)
 
With the Panda/Penguin updates, you have to pay more attention to your link profile than in the past. I won't go into the details here, but if you do some searches, you can find some write-ups on the subject. Basically, you want to create a natural-looking link profile if you want to get high rankings.
