People seem to think that making money online is the closest there is these days to a "get rich quick" scheme. I'm not really in any position to be talking about it, I just wanted to point out that there is nothing special *in particular* about affiliate marketing (or anything else online or offline for that matter) regarding the initial or eventual work effort. There are some very good essays about this, very motivational at the same time as being a harsh reality check. These ones are geared towards online ventures but the advice is very general:

Someone once told me, "history has shown that there is no real substitute for talent". I didn't believe this at the time, but with enough experience it becomes easier to understand... the real difference afterwards is when you start to actually accept it.
