Recommendations on wordpress themes?

I'm looking for a highly customizable wordpress theme for a blog I'm working on (a good / real blog, not the typical affiliate marketing bullshit). Can anyone recommend a site or a particular theme?

I've been looking all over, but can't find one that's as customizable as I'd like. Basically I just want wordpress to function as my CMS, and I want total freedom to adjust look and feel.

Thesis is great. If you're looking for something that's a little more styled out-of-the-box, woothemes.com has some great free themes and you can torrent what isn't free.
