I hate this, but it has to be done...

As a programmer, developer and general "I'll try that software" kinda guy, the time has come to reinstall WinXP on my desktop as well as my wife's laptop.

Can you say "nerve-wrecking boredom"? I can.

I haven't reinstalled windows for like a year, yup, living life on the knifes edge. Although my laptop has linux on it, so I am not using XP all of the time.

Enjoy your hours of reinstalling programs :p

Actually, the reinstalling of drivers and programs is what irks me most.

This machine has run over 2 years without a reinstall, but has finally bit the dust.

My wife's laptop is still runnning 2K but just got slooooooooooooooooow.

AutoPatcher XP

Always make a drive letter on your system for restoration purposes. Copy all of your software with serials to this restoration drive for quick and easy restores.

Once done rebuilding, make an image of your drive C for lightening quick restores.
