#rekt Bill Gates Lose To The World's Best Chess Player In One Minute

How is that embarrassing? I don't get it. Was Bill Gates bragging about being a good professional player or something?

I think 9 moves is great against a world class player. What is so humiliating about losing inside one minute when the game should be played inside 2 minutes and 30 seconds?

I just went to Play Chess Online - Free Online Chess on GameKnot and went for a blitz game and also got my ass kicked in under a minute. I know all the moves and basic stuff. I just don't see what is so surprising?

An embarrassment of a match means that the match is a joke of a match with the champion making bad moves to pressure worse responses. Because such stuff shouldn't be called chess. Is what the authors implying. There's more to language than words.

You're welcome.

If it came to the point where someone is toying with them and you don't consider it as chess anymore, why the embarrassment :)? I wouldn't give 2 shits about it.

Magnus is kind of a big deal because of how young he is and how little he tended to prepare his openings when he reached the world class level. I'm not sure why it was posted here though.

It's a stupid thread. If you're a chess player you know how easy for a Grand master to beat a guy like Bill Gates quickly in a blitz/bullet game.

If Bill Gates fought with a professional MMA fighter he would be owned in a second, would it be surprising too?

can magnus code like Bill! really does not make the difference. But still Bill would get the last laugh even losing.

Bullet Chess is very difficult against any great player, especially if you don't practice it constantly. Against the best Chess player who has ever lived it is death. No shame on losing that quickly.

i know he's playing magnus but bill was pretty crap, didn't notice the attack on his kingside. obviously never really played.

any WFers want a game on chess.com? my username is georgiecasey

In other news, Usain Bolt is beaten by Michael Phelps at swimming.

Sure, although I'm not that great. I'll add you.

Most of the chess players still consider Fisher as the greatest chess player who has ever lived. Carlsen needs to achieve even more in the future in order to be recognized as the greatest of all times. Anyways it seems he's not very far from that too.
Elo rating inflates over time and is not a way to compare Carlsen with the past decade players, in the chess world.

Yea I guess I was referring to his rating being the highest ever and the fact that over time chess players become better due to technology and having the ability to analyze the games of previous masters.

Fischer was certainly the most dominant against his peers in his time, but Carlsen defeated Anand pretty handily and at his age could be chess champion for quite a long time.

i still think kasparov was the greatest ever. people love fischer because he was so crazy. it's like the pele and maradona debate in soccer.
