Ringtone Hell

My current landing page repeats the query term back to the consumer. For example, if they search for "Wicked Ringtones," a banner at the top reads: Featuring: Wicked Ringtones.

I'm thinking my next test will be iframing the offer with some pre-selling "featured" text at the top of the page.

I'd like to see a page thats known to convert well. I agree with you, capitalistpig, all the ringtone pages are pretty much the same.

someone, you know how to find a page that is converting well? see what is still listed when doing a ringtone search after several weeks. I would bet if you found all the aff offers for ringtones and looked back in 3 or 4 weeks the ones still there convert. the ones gone don't, not trying to be a smart ass on this but seems simple enough to me. Nobody in there right mind is just going to give it to you.

I certainly wouldn't say that is doing "well" since there are people out there doing waaaaaaay more than 40 conversions.

I will say this though, when it comes to ringtone landing pages, everyone is doing the same thing. There is a real opportunity to distinguish yourself by doing something different. Find ways to customize the landing page dynamically to what the user is searching for (like Jon said above) and you'll probably do "well". I've got a plan for this, but it's going to be a little while before I can get it developed. Too many irons in the fire!
Yeah I already do this with a custom landing page that uses subdomains. For example I do certain offers for artists so the landing page grabs artist-name.mydomain.com and converts it to Artist Name. I use that to not only put "Artist Name" everywhere on the page but it also grabs the album cover from amazon and displays it.

So my page looks really professional and it looks like it was custom built for that artist when in reality all I did was link to my script with a subdomain and my script built it for me on the fly.

You've gotta stand out!
