Hi - thought I'd share details about a product I've been working on for a while to gauge interest. I plan to get it up and running soon, and I'll probably post a pre-launch special offer here.
Anyway, I've been working on this "secret" project part-time for over two years now
The (original) idea was that users can create full e-commerce/membership-based websites using a drag and drop interface. They'd be able to define exactly what information they wanted to capture from their users, create products, integrate with shopping carts, email providers and almost anything you can think of.
It is a hosted service (subdomain), but has the ability to export to multiple CMS/blogging platforms (including both ASP.NET and PHP).
Users would be able to set up new, fully-functional websites within a few minutes without a single line of code.
I haven't spent a lot of time on this project lately but I'm planning to get back on to it soon.
I've reevaluated where I want this project to go and have come up with the following:
- Users can set up new websites or pages to be hosted, or exported (as modules or generated code)
- It will feature a landing page generator, members-only area module, commenting module, social network integration, and payment/email integration.
- It will provide enough out of the box to compete with Kajabi.
- Users will be able to "build" new modules using a drag and drop interface
- Drag and droppable process workflows (ie: if Date is before 06 May 2010, give free shipping)
- Onpage designer/prebuilt themes
I was going to offer a self-hosting option, where administrators can manage multiple client's websites but I may drop this feature for now.
Is anyone interested in a product like this? It'd probably be a small one-time fee for non-hosted, plus additional fees for new modules, or subscription fee for hosted (+ ability to export).
This has been such a large project, I know there's a lot of detail that I've missed. If anyone is interested, I'll definitely get some more information together and post a proper description of the product.
