Original beta release thread on wickedfire http://www.wickedfire.com/automation/115784-scrapebox-api.html

About Scrapebox API

Scrapebox API is software that allows you to automate ScrapeBox using JSON commands. It has been written entirely in C# and interfaces directly with ScrapeBox. This is 100% custom code that has taken over a year to develop.
Scrapebox API does not use screen scraping.

This is not a cheap autoit or ubot studio script.

ScrapeBox is one of the most popular SEO software tools on the market, but there is no way to easily automate its use.

A Google search shows that people have been looking for a way to automate ScrapeBox since ScrapeBox was first developed but so far attempts to automate ScrapeBox have not been successful.

Scrapebox API solves this problem and provides a solution to a market that has been largely untapped. Scrapebox API has no major competition and you will be able to dominate the market easily.

Scrapebox API is in a production state, in other words, you can buy Scrapebox API and start monetizing it immediately.

Scrapebox API can be used exclusively for internally for use as an SAAS system. This would give a SAAS provider a massive competitive advantage over their competition.

The maintenance of this software can easily be outsourced or handled in-house.

You can download Scrapebox API from scrapeboxapi.com and try it out for yourself and you can watch a demonstration video on YouTube [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgPrn9l50wo"]youtube.com/watch?v=qgPrn9l50wo[/ame]

What you get;

  • The source code of Scrapebox API (full ownership of code, git repositories)
  • The website, code and database (ASP.NET C#, Azure, Blob Storage)
    • Over 6200 lines of code, see Code Metrics here for more information
  • 5 Domains
    • scrapeboxapi.com (expires 02/12/2013)
    • automatescrapebox.com (expires 02/21/2013)
    • scrapeboxautomation.com (expires 02/21/2013)
    • sbapib.com (expires 02/16/2013)
    • scrapeboxapibridge.com (expires 02/12/2013)
  • Professionally designed custom site template and logo, example (HTML and PSD)

The website is currently hosted on Azure (Microsoft Cloud). You can host the site on Azure for free if you’re a BizSpark member (Microsoft BizSpark). To become a BizSpark member is free and Microsoft will generally accept anyone in to the program.

If you would prefer to use another type of hosting, this would only require minor code changes and you could use any hosting service and backend language you prefer (PHP, RoR, etc).

There is no revenue for Scrapebox API because I haven’t had time to monetize. I would love to continue working on this project, but I don’t have the time.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to complement pre-existing software they sell or to enter into a market that is untapped with no competition.

The SEO industry is a billion dollar industry and this is an easy way to enter the industry with a product that people desperately need, in a market that has no serious competition.

FAQ

A: Why are you selling?
Q: I have other projects I need to focus on and I don’t have the time or the resources to devote to Scrapebox API.

A: What marketing have you done?
Q: Apart from the landing page and forum threads, I haven’t done any marketing. But word of mouth about the beta has been spreading and I have had positive response from the current users.

A: How can I monetize this software?
Q: A subscription plan would be the best way to monetize. I was going to charge ~$150 a month for a single machine license which people I spoke to were happy to pay.

A: Can I hire you to continue working on Scrapebox API after I buy it?
Q: Unfortunately I don’t have to time to devote to Scrapebox API but a developer can easily be found on oDesk or elance that would be able to continue maintenance.

Any questions you can contact me via PM or contact@scrapeboxapi.com

you've stated how you're *not* doing it. can you elaborate, within reason of course to protect your intellectual property, on how you *are* doing it? that's key to potential buyers being able to establish whether it's likely to continue working in a stable manner.

I'm using user32 to inject messages in to ScrapeBox, nothing that complicated. Any decent programmer would be able to continue development.

There is a small amount of work required when a new version of ScrapeBox is released, basically just checking that everything is fine and modifying menu offsets in the database, but it's less than 10 minutes work and it doesn't require the software to be upgraded since the offsets are pulled from the server as needed.

I have tried to make Scrapebox API as flexible as possible from a programming perspective. It automatically detects aspects of ScrapeBox so they don't need to be hard coded or changed.

I hope that covers what you're asking, if not or if you have other questions, comments, etc I happy to answer them, either here or on the flippa action.
