I bought this tool and while it seems quite useful, I am having trouble getting useful results to comment.

I've been using custom footprints that are basic boolean queries. For instance:

allintitle:"blue widgets"

or a few different permutations of that.

Scrapebox returns zero results whereas if it's done in google it returns a multitude of results. Obviously if I just wanted to links without being able to easily sparse them I could just stick with google. Sorry if this is ultra newb but what am I doing wrong?

In case you ask:

I've read the usage guides and watched a handful of youtube videos.

easy way to scrape with scrapebox.

Scrape a bunch of keywords from the keyword scraper which is located in the footer of the keyword box, scrape about 9000, but that's way overkill.

Then click add to main keyword list, then scrape. Use your keyword in the keyword scraper. This should be a good start.

but what if I only want specific blogs with "blue widget" in the title or page? I know they exist because the google boolean search allintitle: "blue widget" works for the search and returns 1000's of results.

Drop using allintitle: - intitle as previously mentioned is fine if you're putting the keyword in quotes. Secondly, as long as it has the keyword on the page, you should be fine with gaining the "relevant" backlink. If you really want to go a step further you could use the merge function in scrapbox and merge the intitle: to you keyword scrape. Or just use scrapejet, it's pretty good too.

I've always had problems using search operators with scrapebox - I think it has to do with Google being pretty quick to sending a captcha at anyone using operators, since they're most commonly used by guys like us. You'll have much better luck if you just stick to using quotes.

Captcha? Are you not using proxies when you scrape? I even drop the site: operator and scrape internal pages once I find a site I want to gain a relevant backlink on.

Yeah I use proxies... I only have 10 though.

I mean, I can scrape a little bit using operators, but when I drop the operators I get probably 10x as many results.

I usually scrape with 100 proxies x 100 connections and get really good results. You have hrefer mike, use that too its faster than SB :)
