Hi there. I am new to this forum, but not to IM. I AM however, new at selling domains, etc.

I purchased a domain from someone else with a "semi-decent" wordpress site already created for it. That being said, I am not sure I want to keep it.

It has a lot of monthly searches for the keyword (it is an exact keyword domain), but I don't know if I have time to build the site, get it going and monetized and then flip it...or if it would even be worth it.

I guess the ultimate question here boils down to this: Where are the best places to sell domains? I don't know if you guys actually help someone determine what it MIGHT be worth, but I would be interested in knowing how I could go about finding that out.

Thanks for any advice.

Make it profitable then flip for 12x monthly profit (flippa.com).

2. or go to DP and sell the domains if it has got PR.

DNForum is the pretty much the authority forum for domains and there is an appraisal section there. You could also sell the domain there.

You could try estibot.com or nameboy.com for their automated appraisal tools, though they are at best a very rough estimate and can be wildly inaccurate.

You can get an appraisal from just about any of the big registrars and several have aftermarket sales options.

You could sell the domain on the likes of Sedo.com.

If it's truly a "killer" domain, a real premium name and not some multi word keyword phrase, then there is no shortage of possibilities for selling it. Try Moniker for example.

There are plenty of avenues for selling a domain name. You can list the name for sale at sedo, afternic, godaddy etc. If you need a quick flip you can try to sell it at namepros.com, its free unlike dnforum and sales happen daily. But you may get less than what you expect. Also can try ebay.com.
Can do a quick automatic appraisal at estibot.com. But take the values of all appraisals with a spoon full of salt.. :-)

eBay hasn't been a domain cash cow since 2008. Sedo and Flippa will get your domain auction the most attention, not to mention the highest price.

as others said i'd try and get a appraisal before selling it, or avoid flippa if your not sure it wil sell, think they charge almost $20 just for listing 1 domain for sale. goodluck

I've sold and bought on flippa a lot...even high ticket purchases...go via escrow for bigger dollar amounts

You'll have a hard time selling a name with a TM in it. Good luck though. I suggest putting the site back up and showing traffic / revenue stats. Otherwise I don't see it selling for more than low $$.

Don't bother with ebay (mostly penny domains on there) or godaddy (corrupt marketplace that's full of auto-bidding).

If it's a truly premium domain, then flippa and sedo are great options. The problem is, if it's not a truly premium domain (at least $x,xxx and in high demand) then you're probably wasting your time at those. Flippa will kill you with fees, even if it doesn't sell ($29 for the listing, then $40 for each 1st page bump, which is a must to do several times, plus success fees). Meanwhile, on Sedo your domain will probably never get noticed unless it's one that people are actively looking for.

If the domain lies somewhere in between crap and great, then namepros, Digitalpoint, and dnforum are good options.
