Selling an eBook

Ah the never ending ebooks debate :)

To the OP, my very first stab at making cash was an ebook (non MMO). My advice to you is to promote it through Clickbank, loads of affiliates looking to promote stuff, even if most of them dont know what they're doing.

In another thread I recommended the guy set up a few fake accounts, make some sales through those fake accounts as an affiliate of your product to give you some exposure in their marketplace. Then just email other publishers on clickbank in the same niche to promote your product.

That's what I did and that ebook still makes between 500 - 1000 per month to this day and I havent done any work on it in around 4 months.

Would I do it again? Probably not! But it's a good way to make a bit of cash that won't cost you a lot of money.

In regards to the debate, if anyone has been promoting those Google Biz Opp offers then you can 'keep your fucking ass shut' about Clickbank MMO ebooks. That junk is no better or worse than Mike FIlsaime Latest 'Traffic Orgy Secrets Volume 69er'
 


I've bought a few ebooks in the past not at all related to MMO, just related to some hobbies and was very happy with them. Yeah, 99% of Clickbank products are shit, but there are a couple of good ones.

On topic, I'd say do it. You're looking at under $200 for clickbank fee/lander design/a couple months hosting. If you send it to a few other publishers in the marketplace like previously noted it would be hard not to make some cash from it. You can always take it to printed form after.

Are you interested on the money?

I am asking because many people are just interested in writing the book and having it published. No matter if it sells or not, so they can include it in a CV for a job or have as platform to become public speakers,or simply to show up to their friends

If money is what matters, definitely put it on click bank. It would be really hard as first time publisher to get the same level of potential sales compared to a physical product.

hahah yeah and click bank kept it all on people too!. I setup my own ad network with all my people promoting my click bank links (paying them a flat fee per sale) and click bank for the 6 months I ran the program didn't give me but 2 sales. Grant it I didn't have 10,000 affiliates promoting the products I choose for the system but I was able to monitor the traffic and hops and click bank didn't report more then 2/3rds of my hops I was sending them!. Never the less they were shaving my traffic and who knows where the sales ended up. I'm sure in CBanks pocket. They also re-did their site so who do you think paid for that?

I will never promote any product this service has again. Nor will I promote paydotcom, they are also a scam. Stay far away from these too my friends. And anyone coming in here to say they made money, I want proof.. I mean scans of your bank deposits from cb, if you can show them don't bother responding. CB sucks.

There is no difference between Google cash and a CB ebook, it's all intangible crap.
CB is a great place to print money selling your own product. Don't let anyone here discourage you, we just hate get rich quick ebooks because starting out that's the type of shit we had to sift through while learning. :cool2:
 
My problem with CB is not ebooks per se but finding something that doesn't look scammy and is likely to be returned by the buyer - which happens A LOT with CB.

Your book will likely have more credibility if you pub through Lulu and sell on Amazon. If you need an ebook publisher, PM me and I'll refer you to someone. I don't know if they take non-fiction but I can ask. The issue then becomes how much more you're willing to put into it - getting it epubbed with a proper ISDN #, editing, graphics and multiformat files is going to cost you. Or... you can join the cheap shit crowd at CB.
 
Shoot some video, or make a few audio podcasts or something when you go to sell it on clickbank, you can charge more. (oh, and make sure the number ends in a 7)

Amazon paperback, Amazon Kindle, Shortcovers, Fictionwise, etc etc...

Less likely to be laughed at when you put "author" on your resume if you have an ISBN. Nothing stops you from putting it on CB as well.

Great point! Its true people buy computers to have access to the internet for the vast amount of free information at our very finger tips. ebooks are a tough sell though because people are not very eager to spend their money when there are ways to get around it.
 
Why don't you put it up on clickbank. Run some adwords on it, and if it's profitable, let it fucking rip.
