SEO Consultant Insurance - Do I really need it?

Hi all,

Are you using any types of insurance? Do I really need it?

I am starting to work fulltime as an SEO consultant and will be renting some of my websites.

I live Sydney AU, I have an ABN and I work from home and contact clients via email/phone.

Can any of you please advise me on what insurance you have and recommended for example professional indemnity insurance or public liability insurance or both?

I'm not sure what is legally required etc.

Do you want to pay full price in the event you run into problems?

Think about it both personally, and business-wise. Speak to a lawyer to find out what type of protection you need.

thats what Im thinking if im not making any real money, whats the point of having insurance. thanks

Is this similar to malpractice insurance. Is that something unique to Australia? Since SEO is not a licensed discipline, I didn't think there would be carrier willing to grant an insurance policy.

I would gather that are too many uncontrollable factors in SEO (ie. Panda, Penguin) to warrant an insurance policy.
