hey guys,

i am indeed new to the AM game and am a bit confused as to how to approach things. it appears that a lot of the well known guys from this forum mastered SEO before they moved onto PPC and then integrated them both. SEO seems to be the biggest theme. do you think that it would be the best route for someone to master SEO first before they take on PPC or would you just learn them both at the same time?:music06:

I started out with ppc, and then I read somewhere on this very forum something along the lines of which do you have more of, time or money? SEO takes time, PPC is instant traffic yet can yield a wicked learning curve. Most PPC campaigns you will lose money while you optimize it but once you get it profitable, its worth it as you can genrally make back that money you lost fairly quickly.

Now a days, I build my sites for SEO to the best of my knowledge, and then run ppc campagins with them. Eventually my pages rank and I get instant traffic with ppc. I launched a campaign using wordpress for a landing page and within 3 weeks I have first page for a ton of longtail keywords, I didn't notice this until prosper202 was showing google as the referrer with keywords I was not bidding on. Also with running a ppc campaign you can see which keywords are converting and then optimize your SEO for those converting keywords and by the time you have your campaign optimized with ppc, you can then optimize your seo towards what converts via ppc.

I social bookmark all my sites, whether for ppc or organic traffic, I have found that if you bookmark your landing pages, that helps quality score and get some organic traffic as well. Remember

SEO = time
PPC = money

which do you have more of?

Hope that helps
