i'm new here i know. so sorry if this is too personal. but i am seriously overwhelmed at this whole im deal.

i've been doing wholesale business from shenzhen and vietnam for 5 years now and haven't seen my fortunes rise much at all; all it did was create a cushion of debt removing me from the gutters of reality. when i stumbled upon the blackhat forum about 4 months ago i thought i finally found a faster road to financial stability.

well, it hasn't worked out like that. currently i am the proud owner of 25 domains which yield exactly 0 dollars and adcents. sure, i haven't exactly monetized them with a full effort, but the process has seemed a bit futile the more i got in to it and read all the posts over there. fighting for a dollar here a dollar there. that was exactly the situation i was trying to remove myself from.

anyways, i have been looking around here and it seems a lot more homey. not that i expect you to welcome me. hell, i'm sure i will be told that, yes, im is as hard as hell and i should go back to teaching esl.

anyways, i forgot what i was trying to say.

Funniest thing I read all day.

List a few of your best domains and we will help you with ideas to get you off the ground, you must promise to be a productive WF member though, because if you only post when you need help... people really don't like that around here.
 
Most people get flamed coming in as a noob asking for help, but somehow you did it the right way.

anyhoo, yeah i'd be down for helping too, but we need to know what you're working with.
 
How come the importing side failed? Can't say I've ever met anyone who seriously tried that and couldn't make it work, even if it was just a little bit.
 
you need someone who is successful in IM to tell you it will take at least x months to notice something.

someone who is out of shape gets discouraged when they work their ass off for 2 weeks and see no improvements, but if they had someone, a pro, tell them it will take 2 months to see a difference, it will motivate them to keep going.

how long have you been doing it and what have you done?

My advice would be to take a long weekend and try to get your mind off things. Beating yourself up and trying to brainstorm ideas while under stress like that isn't likely to do any good.

So get some rest for 2-3 days and then come back at it with some renewed energy.. and keep in mind that most people who can't make this biz work are those who give up too quickly.

Oh, and you shouldn't expect easy or longterm money to come from blackhat techniques.. just because it's outside of the straight path doesn't mean it's lightly travelled.

yeah i think i know what you mean. i have been seeking a friend to keep me motivated in the field but i guess charlatanism goes with the territory. haven't found anyone who is doing much better than me willing to point me in the right direction.

i've been at this since late june. so i know i'm new at it, but i am a pretty hard worker. the problem is i am working myself into a circle jerk and all my efforts are misguided. all this " free" info on the torrent sites and the forums. it's hard to stay on any set path as you can easily burn a hole in any single method with one negative post.

it didn't fail. far from it. i'm an american living in vietnam selling chinese electronics to the black market shops, probably an absurdity to the highest degree (yes i an american sell chinese electronics to descendants of the chinese =).

i DO live off of my labors but as i mentioned in my inaugural rant, all it does it pay the bills. wholesale is a tough business because it requires more and more capital the more success you have. i'm reaching my threshold and can see that with one bad customer i could be wiped out.

that's why i am so hungry to figure out im. little money down and, if properly deployed, passive income well in to the future.
 
Best advice someone gave is don't start when you don't have at least $3-5k. I was failing here and there simply because I invested $200, failed and gave up when that same campaign could have made me thousands if I put in more than $1000 and then simply eliminated parts of it that didn't work.
