Seth Godin is kind of an asshole. I wrote an article about his incredible "creative marketing" mind. I think he is nothing but a shameless self opportunist like all great marketers. So essentially he is the greatest bullshit marketer of all time, selling bullshit marketing about bullshit marketing. If you have read any of his books please comment.

If you agree with the fact that Seth Godin promotes bullshit marketing products - please DIGG for me.

You missed on part which are a trademark of all his emails, it seems you deliberately left it out
"All emails are off the record, including blogs, unless we agree otherwise".

Get over it and move on.

His response may have come off "dickish" but I'm sure Seth is bombarded by this type of crap constantly. He's not an "asshole" just because he doesn't want to advertise for you for free.

I have a lot of Seth Godin books, not because I like his writing style or his thoughts, but more so I can analyze his thinking process. I know it sounds really weird and insane, but hey, thats what I do!

Have to agree with the dissent. I've read most of his books. In a few, he talks about different kinds of affiliates and "sneezers." He stresses that the ones with the most influence are the ones that choose their endorsements very carefully.

Not how everyone operates, but it's how Godin does. Why the fuck would he put his rep on the line to promote some miscellaneous dude's service?

And if you follow his blog, you know he runs no ads and only makes an occassional promotion of products/people he has personally found value in.

Don't see how the response is dickish. Fuck, most people wouldn't send any response.

Actually funny you mention that I picked up his "all marketers are liars" book yesterday and have been reading it. Pretty decent. Plays very well into the blog type landers that are being used these days.

i'd be kinda weirded out too if some random person sent me a video of themselves drawing my face. he probably wasn't too enthused with the idea of placing a free ad for a service providing 'SEO link bait" on his site either. also, try not using blue text on a hot pink background next time you promote your services, as it could give one the idea that your banners might indeed cause blindness.
