I haven't seen a thread on this on WickedFire, but considering this forum is dedicated to Affiliate Marketing, this news may be old to some, but to others it might be new.

ShoeMoney Ads is an awesome new service meant to do two types of advertisements:
  • Rotate Affiliate Ads in an ad block like Google AdSense
  • Call up contextual listings from eBay and redirect to the listings using your affiliate ID from CJ (I placed it on my sidebar on Modern SEO News)
Before you sign up, I want you to read the thread and actually understand what it's about. First of all, it is NOT AN AFFILIATE PROGRAM! Basically it is supposed to help those in the field of affiliate marketing. If you have an account at aZoogle or CJ (this is required to use the program!!), you basically supply the affiliate links to Shoemoney Ads and they rotate the advertisements.

Now most of you have already seen the eBay Ads on Shoemoney's site and it is making a ton of money already!

Basically what he did was signed up as an eBay Affiliate (and he got accepted of course - it's ShoeMoney, who wouldn't accept him?) and then took their API Code (please note the normal API only allows 10K requests a day, but if you're approved or verified you can have more) and then pulled up listings which are routed through their affiliate link (I believe)

Here is a BETA testing page for eBay Ads.

If you have any other questions, read their FAQ.

So now you read the thread, so:

I've been testing out the ShoeMoneyAds ebay ads on two of my sites for a few days. So far no conversions, just clicks - unless eBay takes longer to report a sale? Anyone know?

I got 2 conversions so far and CJ does a better reporting than ShoemoneyAds at the moment -> I keep getting an error on ShoemoneyAds....

Sounds cool, but I don't get what the advantage is over just signing up with eBay and CJ?
If you have the time to manage all your affiliate links, that's great...But if you don't use ShoemoneyAds!

Also, did you check Modern SEO News? Look at the center sidebar and you will see eBay ads from Shoemoney! He used the API to call up listings related to the keyword which you give him...

The sign-up page says it's invite-only, but I added my e-mail address.
Yeah, he accepts people based on their website, but he said on IRC today that he'll send out more invites in about 2 days - he needs to setup a new server to the shoemoneyads...

you basically supply the affiliate links to Shoemoney Ads and they rotate the advertisements.

I'm confused about the above. From the way I understood what you wrote, I would supply shoemoney ads affiliate links and they would rotate ebay listings similar/pertaining to those affiliate links and when the ebay ad was clicked it would actually take you to the landing page for the affiliate? When I click on one of the shoemoney ads on his blog, it actually take you the ebay listing, so I'm a little confused on how it would tie in your affiliate ID through the ebay listing so you would make money when someone bought the ebay item? Does that make sense? I think I might have confused myself here...:love-smiley-085:

I've been running ebay (not shoemoney) ads on one of my sites and got a few clicks with no conversion too. But I think they use a 30 day cookie, so if they buy anything in the next month we should get paid, also if they click and place a bid on a 7 day bid and take a day or two to pay and then it takes a day or two to report, it might end up paying us 10 days after the click.

To clarify things, there are two different options available.

The regular shoemoney ads simply allow you to write your own ads and link to whatever you want. These are in the popular adsense/ypn format and you can configure color and the like. You can set up multiple products in a rotation and set up multiple ad placements. You don't need to belong to any affiliate program for this, you could essentially link to whatever you want.

However you can use them to create an affiliate ad rotator, and it works pretty well for that.

The second product is the e-bay ads. You have to have a CJ account and and be approved by EBAY on CJ. Then you can run the E-Bay ads with your PID. These are ads that are keyword based. So you choose an ad format and a keyword (say video recorders), and you will get ads with images from e-bay auctions related to video recorders.

He uses the eBay API to call listings related to your given keyword and then takes your referral ID and redirects the user to the listing through your referral ID.

The other rotation ad block is another thing, but it takes affiliate links and rotates it into a block like Google AdSense.

Did you look at my blog and see the Shoemoney ads on the centerbar?

EDIT: Didn't see aeiouy's post, but he's right!

I have been using shoemoney's adnetwork for about 3 maybe 4 months and let me tell you for some sites they just flat out rock! the program is good for affmarketing using an arbi site model. I run the site as a single page with an aff offer, I also run shoemoney ads on the page. the nice thing is you control the text, link everything, there are no rules as to how you set it up. You could of course just manually ad the links but this way I can ad links to a rotation and find out what is working the best etc. this is good stuff!

Ah, thanks! After reading http://www.wickedfire.com/member.php?u=1381aeiouy's post I got it!

So, is ShoemoneyAds just an ad rotator with the added ability to have ebay ads?

If so, I don't see what the big deal is. Either way though, Shoemoney is probably getting tons of info on what kind of traffic you are getting and what offers convert at what rates. Sounds like a good deal, if you are Shoemoney, otherwise I don't see why you would use this.

Maybe you mean he might be able to determine what offers get click throughs and what ads are most effective and such.... but he has no idea what offers convert. How would he know that?

That is like saying Google knows my conversion rate because I run an adwords campaign. They don't, unless I tell them.

Exactly. Save a step and just email him a copy of your keyword database.

Pity the program needs CJ... I would rather die than use them

Azoogle for life!

Ive been following the progress of the shoemoney ads on his blog - its a very good idea. Im not such a fan of CJ or even Ebay..
