What a fucktard thread !
$4850 for a 2 day conference? Well, not necessarily too much money, if you have it and can invest into your education, but seriously Shoemoney, why babble on your blog abuot this like it's a "near break even" event? Are you fucking kidding me?
If you sell out, the event will generate $170,000 !
I don't know you, or know much about you other than what I've read here, on your blog, and elsewhere. You seem to be a nice guy who most people like, and I assume you make a significant income online.. But your sales copy needs some help. You make all this money, but can't have someone help you with your promotion of the event?
From the Shoemoney blog today:
"This is open to a very select group of people"
Bwwwaaaaaahhhhhhhhh... I guess my $5k won't spend eh? Seriously, WHAT would possibly cause you to decline a prospect.
"There are a lot of expenses with the hotel. I had no idea how expensive some of them were."
Mind elaborating? Why not just admit you're making some decent money off the deal if it sells out, SELL THE EVENT, and don't cry like a douchebag who's penny pinching to try to make the event affordable or something? I just called the hotel 210-554-6186 and spoke with Francisco.. A banquet room for 40, with breakfast served, for 2 days, runs about $1k/day, give or take.. Add lunch and that's another approx. $700/day.. That's around $3,500 for the room.. So, let's give you a lot more credit than we have, and assume you're spending $10k on the facilities at the Marriott.. What am I missing here? What additional expenses with the hotel are you incurring that could be THAT significant? I know I'm guesstimating here, but I can't be too far off, or you need some help setting events like this up..
The SOLE reason this is so amateurish, and I am posting this, is because of the next statement you made:
"if we are lucky turn a little profit"
WHO are you fucking kidding? There will be 4-5 of you speaking/facilitating, HOW CAN YOU NOT SQUEEZE A PROFIT OUT OF $170,000 FOR A TWO DAY EVENT, where in essence, the attendees pay for everything including airfare, hotel and DINNER?
It's not the event, it's not YOU making money, it's HOW you are serving up this ice cold dish, making excuses for the price tag, and doing a poor job selling this as a $7-10k event. For attendees, it'll surely cost at least $6-7k.. $4850 for the event, $500 if you want to eat the fancy dinner with the other movers and shakers, 2x$185 for hotel accomodations, airfare, drinks etc..
"Also we decided to not allow any form of sponsorship from companies. This was a pretty large impact as well to the final price decision but we did not want people to get taken away from the main goal."
LMAO
Dude, good luck, I am sure anyone attending will enjoy your event, and please take this for what it's worth.. I just think you need some help with your sales pitch..
yo!
