Shopping Cart Recommendation

Someone should do a one product shoppingcart. I don't think too many of these carts are suitable for 1 product unless you want to completely tweak the templates. Then again, I have not looked at them all, but I do remember looking for ones suitable for one product about a year ago and most were pretty involved for just having a one product site.

Update: I wasted 2 days agonizing over shopping carts when everything I wanted to do was available to me via 1SC. Turns out their forms can be wrapped into a template after all. My coder pointed this out to me last night. Stupid stupid stupid :angryfire:.

Well at least my problem's solved and I know which carts to look at in the future for other projects.

Thanks again.

BTW... Caspah, 1SC can do 1 product only and I (now) recommend it if that's what you're looking for.

i also use 1 shitty cart....

they were good a few years ago,.... but once they had that spamhaus complaint like what? 2 years ago their email delivery went to crap....

and they havent updated the cart enough to stay current with what marketers are doing.... they JUST got the 1 click upsell thing in.... which is good.

but you cant prepop their order pages, their order pages kinda suck, cant pass variables into the cart.... can't send custom emails if the card declines..... their ad trackers are from 2001 and are crap.... i could keep going...

so many things it doesn't do.

ultracart is ok, i use it for another site, you can customize the hell out of it, but their support is non existent..... i mean you can wait weeks to get a reply.

i need something i can run CPA offers off of, and 1shopp ain't it.

Agreed. There's a lot it can't do and their Email always lands in the spam folder (I used Aweber instead).

Ultracart is quite robust, but yeah, the support issue is a big turnoff. Called them and left a message a couple of days ago for a custom page... still waiting...

I got this chick at Volusion though who's been quite helpful and keeps calling. Still keeping this option on the table.

Heres a question for ya'll

I am in the same boat of wanting to rebuild one of my ecommerce sites from the ground up. If all link URLS and Meta tags stay the same after i switch the software the site is running on, the design etc do you think SEO will be negatively effected?

I don't think you'll have a problem as long as your links are the same. If all your back links start throwing 404's you might notice a significant drop in ranking.

You can't go wrong with UltraCart, JT and JohnA can customize just about anything you can dream up, and they've got more built-in tools and reporting than most of us would ever need.

mont7071, built in tools and reporting?

do tell....

i need a new cart to run my stuff on the networks, cant use 1sc.... anyone have any suggestions?

I have a love hate relationship with magento. With some beating and a dedicated server she is now in submittion. If you only have a few products I would look for a simpler cart.

Man, anything less than like 20 products, I just use WP simple paypal shopping cart plugin. Shortcode, pass variables, sets up in minutes.

You guys are using nukes to shoot grouse.
