So I have this site that Im ranking #1 for my keyword in and get about 10k uniques a month with it. Right now it pulls about $350 a month adsense from it, but I was thinking it would do much more rev selling an ebook.

These arent my keywords but its as if I was #1 for "Acne Cure" and on the top of p.3 for "Acne" as well as p.1 for several other long tails. My keywords are similar.

So ive gone to clickbank to look for some products to promote, there are about 3 but all have a gravity of 0 literally. Would it be worth it to build my own LP and product? I mean sure 10k uniques a month to looking for a cure to a common problem could pull me more than $300-350 a month.

If you think i should have something built, what do you guys recommend? Making a CB product? Or just using Click2Sell or ejunkie? Let me know and thanks in advance.
 


Test existing products to see how they sell. If they make you more than Adsense, continue to sell them. Then, create your own product. Split test traffic between two offers (affiliate & yours). When yours starts doing better than affiliate's => send all traffic to yours.

Many ways to skin this cat (mailing lists, presells, etc...) but the short answer is yes, go with the digital product. Stick it on CB. They have tons of affiliates that will push it for you if it sells.
 
This probably isnt exactly legal, but fake it.. Make a fake product have either paypal or a checkout page.. Just dont process anything or offer direct refunds. Check your conversions. If it will make you mad money, then make the product..

well if I did that, it would just ruin my paypal account, or id have to deal with a crazy amount of CB's.

Is it possible for an ebook for something like this to convert even 1:100?

so build a checkout form (just copy) that looks 100% and captures credit card info. Onsubmit pop a "we're sorry- we're not currently live" and store only the email - emailing those people when you are actually live.


Good litmus test.

First way to go would be to of course sign up to some affiliate networks and see if they have offers related to your site.. check what is being advertised in your adsense cut out the middle man and run the offers yourself..

ebook could be a great way to go but the only way you'll find out is to just make the LP and test it..

ive looked around, and the only place there is anything is clickbank really. The things being advertised range from webmd to physical goods, ive checked aff programs for the sites and they pay out crap. 7-8% on a $25 sale isnt worth my time, I would think I would do much better with an ebook. thanks for taking the time to jump in though

I guess I should just get an LP made, my site is a WP site, and Id rather not mess with the current set up for SEO purposes, so I would need someone to build an LP based on WP.
 
not trying to bump, just had a new thought

so I guess the question is, who is the best sales copywriter/sales page designer? Based on WP if possible? Anyone have any reccomendations someone from wicked fire, or anywhere else? Id really appreciate it, thanks
 
I know refrozen was selling some wordpress landgin page plugins a while back that may help.

Also is this something you could maybe push locally, like you said acne, so if you had that go to your local dermatologists, and see if anyone has interest.
 
How much does it cost for advertisers to bid for the keyword with Google? $350 with 10,000 uniques seems a bit poor unless it is a low paying keyword.

One of those is probably mine that's about 3-4 years old that didn't exactly make me rich. Test it out, but my experience is that the all the CB product did was mostly built a list of 12 year olds that couldn't buy.

If you can rank for "adult acne" keywords you'll be better off, otherwise it's tough traffic to monetize. I had another ebook that was $7 and just used paypal. That one had nice conversions, made a lot more in the end and never had a refund, so test your price points.

These 2 have dominated CB for as long as I can remember...

Might want to test these and get some numbers before putting your own together.

There were some Proactive clones around last year that were free trials that I thought would be a win, but I couldn't get those to convert either. I think markethealth might have a couple still if you don't mind running with them.

Your ebook strategy is worth at least testing out, especially if you can target adults, but don't spend too much time pulling your hair out.
 
If your visitors are clicking the ads looking for physical products like acne creams and you try to sell an ebook that kind of doesn't make sense
 
I have actually already started the process of having an ebook built, and a sales page made. Im starting with a price point of $27 and hoping to convert at least 1:100 which would mean 100 sales a month, or $2700. Obviously I am going to test out price points, and see what does best.

And my keyword isnt actually acne, but something else that a kid or teenager most likely wouldnt have a problem with. I will be looking into finding some white label topical ointment I could possibly sell in the future. For now we will see how this goes.

I think i will start a case study thread for this once everything is built and I am ready to launch, if this goes right, I could increase my monthly rev on this site by 10-30 times.
