Since we were talking about cops in that other thread ...

Two points

1. That kid is an idiot, he needs to stop being a political activist wannabe. I hate students on my campus who only come to the college to participate in gay crap like rallies, protests and activism. That tasering was well deserved.

2. That female officer is way too high strung. She needs to chill out and use her "inside voice"

He's a drama whore. I just saw on the news that he posted a video on his website holding up a sign that says "harry dies" on a busy street corner after the book came out. Kind of turns his "passionate for a cause" plea into a "I just want some attention".

From what I saw, it looks like the "authorities" overreacted, but if he didn't throw a bitchfit, then he wouldn't have gotten tazered, or even arrested.

No sympathy here.

He overreacted but he is a young kid surrounded by cops. Its normal. Those cops are fascist morons.

He asked a question. The cops or more likely the plain clothes guy they looked at decided it was a bad question. They stopped his question, tried to remove him, allowed him to fight, then tazered him. Tazers are not exactly safe. What if that kid had a bad heart or a defibriltor? He dies for asking a question of an elected official? WTF?

The Skull and Bones question is fairly valid but has been asked before. And kerry wanted to answer but was too much a pussy to stop the cops. I hope Kerry gets hung out to dry on this and the police department gets sued.

Umm BTW kyleirwin can you slow down your animated avatar? I am too slow to focus on it....

The kid never got tasered. At least 4 cops with their hands on him while he's yelling "stop tasering me!" They would have been zapped, too. No excessive force, either. Just a typical arrest.

Every one of those officers has obviously forgotten everything they learned in the academy about control and compliance. Any one of them should have had the guy under complete control and out of the room in less than a minute. Unfortunately for them, they were trying to use brute force and he was resisting... and succeeding.

Then, stopping in the lobby and allowing him to spout to the camera was stupid, as well. Get control, gain compliance with as little force as is necessary, cuff him up, get him out of the room, out of the building, into a car and away from the scene as quickly and as quietly as possible.

I'm thinking whomever decided to arrest the guy was a little shakey on exactly why they were going to arrest him and didn't communicate well to the others what the plan was. The other officers that came in after the arrest started were just trying to go along with what someone else started and they all wound up looking foolish.

I'm afraid the kid will get a lot more glory out of it than the cops ever will. That was his plan, afterall, wasn't it? The cops just wound up looking silly. I'd recommend some refresher training.

He's a bit of a drama queen, but inciting a riot? Hmm... So much for freedom of speech.

Well, at least it's a bit better than during the Vietnam shit when they just shot protesters.
