Site at #1, 130+ page views a day. How to monetize?

This site was before I did much in terms of keyword research. I seen it had 5,400+ exact local a month, and $1.50 cpc with hardly no competition and thought "game time". Have learned since then.

Anyways, I'm sitting at #1 now, and after messing with several wordpress themes, colors, and ad placements, I've managed to get adsense to pull in a whopping 1% ctr the last few days. Was really hoping to get that to 5+, but not sure if that is going to happen. Going to continue to tweak it more, but in the meantime I've had a semi-related CPA offer that pays $35, only had 1 convert in the past couple weeks so I'm not sure if that offer if optimal for this niche.

Basically, it's a non-commercial term. Not really any offers out there for it. Adsense displays decent relevant ads, but nothing really on point. This is what I get for not doing any additional research.

Anyone been in a similar situation and figured out a way to monetize? I know 130+ page views a day isn't much, but I figured there might be a better way than sitting with a 1% ctr for adsense. As of right now, I'm just moving adsense around every few days and rotating CPA offers to get something going.

Hard to say with out knowing the niche, some things are impossible to monetize. If its an info site or something you might want something to pop up and grab emails.

You're screwed. Best to just go get some pop unders / content lockers / email submits.

This is why I harp on and on about commercial viability every time someone brings up niche sites.

Click through is not really an onpage factor.

Have you tried building a list? Setup an autoresponder that sends out relevant content regularly- tips, guides, or whatever's applicable to your niche. Then once in a while, you can squeeze in an affiliate product and upsell it to them.

IMO, this works better than just slapping an affiliate or CPA banner on your site because people subscribed themselves and actually trust you now. With your targetted 130 uniques a day, in a month you're gonna have a list to die for in your niche. And in IM, the money is in the list. :)
