I've come across a site that is stealing a lot of textual content from my site. What is the best way to deep crawl two web sites and compare all the text/pages? I want to shut them down for good... but first find out everything they took.

Learn PHP and do it yourself. Sounds kind of like a uniqe job. If they are passing you backlinks, who really cares? Your shit is going to be copied.

That's how I found out that they were copying my site. But now I need something more thorough that will deep crawl both sites and compare all text on the two sites. My site consists of hundreds of pages and so does theirs. Is there any fancy scripts out there that do this?

Thanks

right. Trying to 'police the web' is a job most 'tards and newbs take on at first. Let us know when you've made the web 'safe for consensual adults' again, spidey.

Why do you want to find out how much was stolen?

who said they were passing me backlinks? they aren't. even if they were passing me some it wouldn't be worth squat.

we're talking about one site ripping ALL OF MY CONTENT, a blatant rip. you would be pissed too if you were in my shoes.

I want them to remove ALL the copied content. If I had a script that compared both sites it would makes things easier.

try archive.org, the WayBack Machine. You can see exactly when they ripped you off, plus prove you were there first (unless they are smart and updated their robots.txt to keep the WayBack spiders out hehehehe).

It will give you ammo for a stern C&D letter, if you wanna go that route. Personally, I webmaster my lawyer's vacation rental website, just so she'll write stern C&D letters for me for free. Which she does, she's a freakin' pirahna that one.
