Skype #'s Embedded In Adsense Ads

I can't find a satisfying answer on this one. Do we Adsense publishers get paid when people call through the Skype number from the Ad or is Skype just raping me?

There is VERY LITTLE info about this that I could find. Seems fishy, but then I can't imagine Google letting Skype parse their code on top of the Ads and not get a cut from it... Anyway, anybody know what the deal is with this?

I think you have the Skype Firefox extension installed. Try checking the ads with another browser.

Skype just sees numbers on a page and makes a link to it regardless of what it's displayed through.

If you write a phone number in your page content, it will often be picked up by Skype. In other words, if people are using the number to phone through Skype it's linking just the text direct to your Skype, not through Google, therefore you get nothing. Unless something's changed that is, but that's hugely unlikely I suspect!

Also, there's nothing fishy about it. If there's a number in the ad, someone can write it down or copy and paste it. All Skype does is make it easier.

Got a point there, but knowing how to find high conversion rate, big-money products to advertise seems to elude my scope of knowledge.

There's a VERY small population out there with Skype who will see an ad with a phone number, and then click it. You might be losing out on pennies, but that's about it.
