I was looking into services for Text Marketing and they charge a ridiculous amount of money. So it got me thinking, you know how you can send an email and it comes as a text? For example, if my phone number was a T-Mobile phone number, I can send an email to mynumber@tmomail.net

With that being said, what's to prevent me from sending an email to everyone's phone and it coming up as a text? If I didn't know their phone provider, all I would have to do is send it to the top 3-4 phone companies and I'll have a pretty good success rate.

My question is, has anyone tried doing this and is there a legal aspect that prevents me from doing this?

Thanks for your help!

Coming in as spam? Maybe getting blacklisted real quick?

Just use twilio, plivo or something else and do it right with legit services?

Enjoy the heat and lawsuits.

SMS spam generates some of the worst heat possible (and fast).

Do you really want to piss of a telco who has unlimited money and a bored team of lawyers that are ready to pounce ?
