Well, that's about to change.
I have a domain that I've wanted to do something with for the past year or so, and haven't. Given recent events and my daily schedule, I realize that I'll never have time for it.
Also, and this is important, I don't have an interest in monetizing it for myself. You heard me right.
So I thought this is the perfect site for a community project.
Why?
1. You, the community, will be involved.
2. You'll get to see the growth from just a domain and hosting account to a full fledged website.
3. You will have full access to stats. Want to know how much traffic there was? Check the stats.
4. You will get to monetize your slice of the project. How? I'll explain in a minute.
To start the transparency process, the domain is: FirearmsLegislation.com. Currently, I have it setup on Hostgator with WP installed and a plain jane theme (Responsive - thanks to CCarter's awesomeness for that one) and have CloudFlare activated.
My vision (and this is subject to change based on the community) is articles written by a variety of people with their own spins on the issues. Editorials would be the best way to put it. Firearms related videos. Product reviews (the ONLY place that monetization will be allowed). Links to senators and congressmen. News on new legislation. Form letters for people to send to senators. Etc. THE place to go for information related to firearms. Email newsletters - not monetized until a fair way for the community to benefit can be devised - with updates re: the latest happenings.
I would like to have an advertisement for the NRA on every page of the site. Whether you're a NRA fan or not, they are the largest pro-gun group in the USA. Nobody involved in this project will receive any sort of kickback from the NRA ad(s).
How can you get involved?
Simple, post your interest here. How would you like to help. Suggestions. Etc.
The only requirement for involvement is: you have to be willing to be 100% transparent in what you do. Whether it's just writing an article, or product review, to sending links. The ultimate goal is for everyone to learn something new about site building / promotion.

but I can add a few manual quality comments on niche related blogs (PR sorted) while running my regular SB harvesting. Keeping all links generic until someone more savvy instructs x keyword y times. Will hold off till any assignment is authorized.
