I thought this would be cool for myself and others to follow along. I'm going to set-up some Facebook Ads > Offer and see if I can make any sales. My budget is quite small but this should be interesting nontheless.

I have a domain, set-up cloaking to show Facebook Interns a different website when they check my site and launched 2 ads in the 'weight loss' niche.

Update 1: First 2 ads disapproved, they said my images werent' correct / showed too much skin

Update 2: Changed my image (one that is showing on other facebook ads) and resubmitted

Update 3: Setup 2 paid ads in another social site (also cloaking) - both in the health niche but promoting different products

I have no idea if these will get approved as I've never heard of anyone doing it, fingers crossed :)

Update 4 next, I'll try and edit the post as much as I can until it gets replies so that people don't think I'm just bumping up my post count

Update 4: OK, amazingly the 2 ads on the other social site which I'm cloaking have been approved. I've never tested this so I'm going to leave one redirecting to another site (that I dont own) for a few dollars and switch up the other one straight away.

wow, im surprised you're able to report back so quick. Seems like it used to take all day for an approval/disapproval.

Yeah they disapproved me quick, no approval on the other

Update 5: Just got approved by yeprevenue so created a new facebook ad. There are 2 waiting for approval now. I paused the campaigns on my other traffic source for now as I really want to spend the little budget I have on testing Facebook

Response to my Flat Stomach ad:

"Ad Issue(s):
* The content advertised by this ad is restricted. Per sections 8 and 9 of Facebook's Advertising Guidelines, this content is prohibited from being advertised on Facebook. Ads for this product, service or site will not be accepted in any form, and may result in your account being disabled."

How is that? I see people advertising it every day...

I also got the same disapproval message for my IQ test ad...??

Almost banned by my other traffic source as well, was just testing it to be honest. I'm going to push my other source to the limit, it is sending relevant traffic to an IQ test page for very cheap so I'll see how that works out today

Any ideas why my IQ ad was disapproved? I cloaked them to a relevant page that should be approved

Where do you guys cloak them too?

Getting those IQ ads approved is a major pain in the ass.
Hell.. getting one ad approved is a pain in the ass.

I once made an ad that said:
"What do you prefer, apples or oranges?"

I had an image of an orange, linked to an apple vs orange url (forgot which one) and got denied for section 8+9. Go figure.

With IQ test even if you link to an actual IQ test page you'll get denied for 8+9.

I'm not sure how many of these ads to push but I'll set up some new IQ ones tonight

I can't get a quick VISA from a petrol station like you americans if they disapprove my account. I've had a lot of successful ads in the past promoting normal things though, never affiliate.

We'll see

Just setup 4 new IQ ads on Facebook targetting Young, canadian girls (it is a canadian offer)

Fingers crossed

Just to add, I'm also pushing 1 offer through another social advertising source. So far I've only sent 26 visitors but it's very cheap traffic. I'm using an IQ test landing page from Yep Revenue (I recommend using them if you haven't already).

No sign-ups so far, I hope to have sent around 150 visitors by tonight / tomorrow and that will give me more reliable results.

If you have any questions or suggestions please feel free to add them. I'm here to learn and help as much as I can at the same time.

4 more IQ ads disapproved :(

They are cloaked to Facebook Applications on IQ's this time and still no approval. I'll resubmit more tomorrow, and if that doesn't work I'll try to focus on my other traffic source. Any tips on Facebook appreciated

OK, I have another campaign accepted on my non-Facebook traffic source (you guys won't know it but I'll reveal if it works).

I've worked out that I need a sale every 150 visitors to break even on this IQ offer (you can work out my traffic cost and earnings if you want). So far I've sent 15 visitors on this new offer (not properly tracking my other one). I'm going to send almost 1,000 visitors so if I haven't made at least 7 sales by the time that happens then I've lost money.

I'll be happy if I get 5-6 just so I know that i'm getting somewhere

And just to add for this other source I'm sending:

- American
- Females
- ~ 18 years old

To a YepRevenue.com IQ offer that I've been told is converting well

Bubba: How much did that sale get you? How much is each click costing you?
Does the maths work out to put you in the positive column?
Is this traffic source Bebo?

Sale is getting me $7.50 - clicks are costing less than $0.08, average around $0.05. From a site recently on RWW but not going to mention it until I've tested it more (unless someone gives me a nice facebook tip). ;)

Yep, im in the positive. I break even if i make one sale for every 150 clicks, so at 87 I'm almost doubling what i spend. Of course this is a tiny sample so I'm going to have to keep going to see how it works out

No, it's not Bebo, do they have a program similar to Facebook / MySpace?

You're only paying $0.05 per click on Facebook?

Even with cloaking, don't you still have to write the ad as an IQ test, so as soon as they see that they'll just deny it?

I've sent 369 visitors and made 3 sales ($22.50) - to break even I needed to make 3 sales when sending 450 visitors so I'm profiting but not hugely

This isn't Facebook traffic

There are hundreds of IQ ads on Facebook, take a look.
