I'm a lazy ass, ok? I like click-and-shit-happens kind of stuff. If you've used both, do you have an opinion of Softaculous as an alternative to Fantastico? The latter is getting a little long in the tooth, and since I'm changing up hosting anyway I thought I'd look into alternatives.

Hi,

It seems to have a lots of web-apps to choose from than Fantastico... Softaculous has about 50 more apps than Fantastico. Additionally they have a FREE version with about 50 apps.

That being said I've never installed it on a server that already has fantastico so I'm not sure how they play together if they do at all.

Honestly between the two, I like softaculous because you can really do everything in 1-2 steps.

Fantastico is dope, but for wordpress it takes like 5 steps.

I've used both, thought both were simple and easy to use. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Yeah. I think your question was are there any different 1 click installers. And really, there maybe, but when it comes down to it. Sofaculous and fantastico are the two big ones, and they run what like $10 a year for a server license..

Keep in mind that you want all your plugins to be updated, ect. So finding some free version of some under used 1 click installer, is probably asking for trouble. With having insecure or outdated software running.

Kind of like control panels, sure you can go with Klaxo over Cpanel. But you also sacrifice support and security. Since one has been tested on litterally hundreds of thousands of servers, is constantly updated. Vs. the former (Kloxo/LxAdmin) which has bug fixes that haven't been fixed in years, security holes, ect.

that said. There looks to be a third one Installatron or http://www.installatron.com . Haven't run it personally, probably wouldn't run it.. But they do mention some type of free/paid license. so may be worth looking at.
